Taking a Pause for Productivity

Dear Real Academics,

We hope the semester is winding down for you in a positive way. Please read on for some news and an application challenge below. I promise you won't be disappointed if you read through to the end! ☺

CONGRATULATIONS
As I look at our calendars, I see finals and then graduation (and for us, moving out of state -- eek!). For those graduating and/or graduating students, congratulations! For those finishing the semester, congratulations as well! For those not in traditional academia, congrats on making it half way through the year!

GRATITUDE
I also see that we've been putting out blog posts fairly consistently each week for one year. Our first post was back in May of 2021. And to sound totally cliche simply because I don't know how else to say it, time really does fly.

With that said, we are taking a PAUSE.

First, the PAUSE is to thank you for being part of Real Academics and for your readership and engagement. It means more than you know.

PRODUCTIVITY
Second, the PAUSE is to catch our breaths so that we can put out more for you all in the near future (and so we can move). So, you may not see a weekly newsletter or blog post...but do stay tuned for more to come!

Important Note: We are still available to help you with any summer writing and/or statistical analysis or evaluation needs. You can always reach us at inforealacademics@gmail.com and/or find us on this website: www.therealacademics.com. Please spread the news to anyone you think could benefit from our service.

APPLICATION CHALLENGE
What about you, Real Academic? Whether you are in traditional academia or not, it is helpful to PAUSE. However long the pause is, I challenge you to do THREE things:

(1) Celebrate. Think back to all the things you've accomplished and make an accomplishment list. You can read more about how this works in one of our most popular blog posts, Need a Boost of Encouragement? The Accomplishment List.

(2) Give thanks. Think back to all the things you are grateful for this semester. Whether small or big, making a gratitude list puts a lot in perspective and can even change your mindset for the better. Try it.

(3) Be productive. Think of the pause as a way to actually be more productive. If you are skeptical, check out one of our more popular blog posts, The Value of Rest.

CLOSING
With that said, Dr. Garza and I wish you the very best as summer roles in. We hope that all of you are able to find some time to PAUSE and use that pause productively to celebrate, give thanks, and generate new ideas for exciting projects to come!

Until next time,

Maggie
